Will Young 'proud' of hits collection

Will Young's last album was entitled Let It Go

Will Young has claimed he is proud of his back catalogue of songs.

The singer, who is due to release his greatest hits album later this month, told Digital Spy that he initially thought of its release as purely contractual.

"But now I'm rehearsing all of the songs for the tour it makes me really proud," he said.

"The songs are all really varied and show growth along the way."

Will added that that the public have often viewed him as someone who will stick up for what they believe in.

"I think people liked the fact that I stood my ground on Pop Idol and then I came out with Leave Right Now. That made people think, 'He's doing what he wants to do'," he added.

Will Young's 2009 tour is to take in a number of dates, including Glasgow's Clyde Auditorium on November 12th, London's Hammersmith Apollo on November 21st and 22nd and Bristol's Colston Hall on November 24th.
