X Factor to cost extra £3m
Simon Cowell has said that ITV will need to spend £3 million if they want to remain as the shows broadcaster.
The music mogul has demanded the extra cash in order to invest in the show so that it keeps getting better, the Mirror reports.
Cowell, who produces the hit talent contest as well as being a judge, wants £300,000 more to be spent on each of the ten live shows of the series.
He has reportedly summoned ITV execs to his LA home to discuss the new deal with a new format for the show one of the changes he will be looking to bring in.
A source told the news provider: "Simon has said he will sign but the details must be right. It's about making the show better each year."
This year will also see Cowell launch a US version of the X Factor after ending his deal with American Idol.
The X Factor is currently touring the UK and will be at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre tonight (March 5th).
