Youngs praises Leicester coach following autumn internationals win
England star Ben Youngs has said that his match-winning display against Australia in the autumn internationals was thanks to a former Wallabies player.
Youngs produced a man of the match display to inspire England to a 35-18 victory over Australia at Twickenham on Saturday (November 13th).
And according to the 21-year-old Leicester player, his club's Australian backs coach Matt O'Connor is the reason for his impressive display.
"Matt has had a massive influence on my career. The way he plays and his philosophy on the game, I can't thank him enough, " he told the Press Association.
"I certainly wouldn't be where I am as a player, and playing for England, if it wasn't for him. Those parts of my game, where it is 50-50 but you take a risk, are down to him."
Saturday saw England score their highest number of points against Australia and equal their biggest winning margin over the Wallabies.
Their next autumn internationals tie comes against Samoa at Twickenham on November 20th.
