The Los Angeles Kings are a professional ice hockey team based in Los Angeles, California. The Kings play in the National Hockey League (NHL) and are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. The Los Angeles Kings were founded in 1966 by Jack Kent Cooke when he was awarded an NHL expansion franchise for Los Angeles. The Kings began their life in LA at the Forum in Inglewood California playing their home games there for 34 years before moving to Staples Center in 2000.
