The National Tour 2012
Early LPs, such as their eponymous debut and sophomore effort; ‘Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers’ did not propel The National into the spotlight, rather highlighted the bands potential and gave them the time and space to develop. It wasn’t until the release of ‘Alligator’ that The National started to gain a greater degree of recognition. Tracks like, Secret Meeting, Mr November and Baby, We’ll be Fine struck a real chord with fans and paved the way for the breakthrough success of the 2007 release, Boxer. Opening track, Fake Empire became a huge hit and even got picked up by the Obama campaign for election. The album topped or finished very high in critics ratings of the best albums of 2007 and stands out as one of the finest albums of the decade.
